This is an English translation, for convenience. The text that applies is the Dutch version. Where the two differ, the Dutch text is the one that counts.
House rules
GroepsDruk is small and private. Everyone who comes in here was invited by someone else. That only works if we agree on a few things. Here they are, in plain language.
1. What GroepsDruk is for
You set a goal. You prove with a photo or a video that you are working on it. Your friends see that, rate it and poke you when you stall. That is all there is to it, and that is exactly the point.
These rules apply to everyone who uses GroepsDruk: to your check-ins, your stories, your messages, your pokes, your profile and the names of the communities you create. They go with the terms of use, so they apply to everyone who uses GroepsDruk.
2. The short version
- Be real. Your check-in shows what you actually did.
- Be decent to each other. No bullying, threatening or belittling.
- No nudity, no violence, nothing illegal. Not as a joke either.
- Watch who is in the shot. You can only film other people if they are fine with it.
- See something that is not right? Report it. We will look at it, we aim for within a day.
The rest of this page explains what exactly that means and what happens if someone does not stick to it.
3. Who can join
GroepsDruk is for everyone aged 16 and over. If you are younger than 16, do not create an account. That is the same limit as in our privacy policy. We do not ask your age when you sign up and we do not check it either, but if an account turns out to belong to someone who is too young, we take it down.
Also: one account per person, and that account is yours. You do not share your password and you do not let anyone else check in in your name. You can only get in by invitation. If you invite someone, you vouch a little for that person sticking to these rules as well. So do not invite people who have been removed from here before.
That account is also genuinely yours as a person. Your profile picture is there so people recognise you, so ideally it is simply you; something else is fine too, as long as it fits you and people do not think they are talking to someone else. What it comes down to: behind an account there should be a person your friends know. That is the whole reason this works.
4. Check-ins have to be real
This is the core rule of GroepsDruk, because without this rule the whole app means nothing. A check-in shows what you are doing at that moment. So:
- no photo from last week that you use again;
- no picture from the internet and no screenshot;
- no photo of someone else that you pass off as your own;
- you do not let anyone else check in for you.
The app already helps with this: for a check-in you can only use the camera, not a file from your camera roll. Work around that anyway and we will take your check-ins down. If it happens more often, your account goes.
5. What is not allowed
5.1 Nudity and sexual content
No nudity, no sexual acts, no sexually suggestive photos or videos. Not in a chat either, and not even if you think the other person asked for it. GroepsDruk is not here for that, and it is not the place to sell such images or advertise them elsewhere.
We are not going to pretend this never happens. If we see it, we take it down and you hear from us why. If it keeps happening, your account goes. Only for 5.2 below do we skip those steps.
5.2 Sexual content involving minors
There is no room for this whatsoever. Anyone who posts or forwards such material is gone immediately and permanently, without warning. In that case we also call in the police.
5.3 Violence and threats
No images of real violence, no threats, and no dangerous challenges that others could copy. A goal that comes down to hurting yourself or someone else does not belong here.
5.4 Bullying, harassment and hate
Nobody should be made to feel rotten here by someone else. So no name-calling, no humiliating, and no picking out the same person over and over again. And no hate or discrimination on the grounds of origin, skin colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or anything else.
Note: this also applies to the features that are innocent in themselves. Poking someone twenty times, teaming up to keep giving "not approved" on everything someone posts, or using an emoji reaction to torment someone: that simply falls under this.
5.5 Self-harm, suicide and eating disorders
Talking about how you are really doing is allowed here. That is part of an app about goals and keeping going. What is not allowed: encouraging self-harm or suicide, sharing methods, or glorifying eating disorders.
Struggling yourself? Call 113 Zelfmoordpreventie on 113 or free of charge on 0800-0113, day and night. If it is about eating and your body, have a look at proud2bme.nl. Worried about someone here? Report it to us, then we will take a look.
5.6 Unhealthy goals
GroepsDruk is about keeping going, not about tearing yourself down. Goals and check-ins that encourage extreme dieting, fasting for days on end or excessive exercise get taken down. That also goes for before-and-after comparisons that are mainly meant to run yourself or others down.
5.7 Other people in the shot
Your check-ins are often outdoors or at the gym, so other people are in the shot before you know it. Do not film people if they do not want that, and do not put photos or videos of someone else online without that person knowing about it and being fine with it. Do not share other people's details either: no addresses, no phone numbers, no screenshots of private messages.
5.8 Pretending to be someone else
No fake accounts and no pretending you are someone else. Your username and your profile picture are allowed to be funny, but not in a way that makes people think they are talking to someone else.
5.9 Spam, scams and advertising
No chain messages, no advertising, no sales pitches and nothing aimed at getting money or data out of someone.
And your invitations: do not post your code or your link anywhere public. That lets anyone walk straight in, and then it is not a private app any more. Inviting someone personally is of course fine, even if you only just met them at the gym. You have ten of them, so use them well.
5.10 Illegal content
Anything that is banned in the Netherlands is banned here too. If you come across something like that, report it. The terms of use say exactly what to include, so that we can do something with it straight away.
6. What is very much allowed
This page is full of what is not allowed, so here is the other side for a moment. It is allowed to be messy here. A week that went wrong is a perfectly good check-in. A photo of yourself on the sofa with a note that it is not working out right now belongs here just as much as the photo where you are beaming. Being honest about how it is going is exactly what this app is meant for.
And robust humour between friends is not bullying. The difference is whether the other person can laugh about it too. If you are in doubt, just ask.
7. Reporting something
If you come across something that does not belong here, let us know. You do that in the app itself, at the story or the profile it is about, or via report@groepsdr.uk. If you report by email, say who or what it is about and what is going on, then we can find it.
What happens after that: you get a confirmation that your report has come in, and a person looks at it, and we aim for within a day. That is how we want to do it, not a guarantee. No computer decides on your report and nothing is taken down automatically on the basis of a report. Once we have made a decision, you hear from us what it turned out to be: whether we took something down or barred someone, or whether we did nothing. What happens with that person after that stays between us and them.
The person you report does not in principle get to hear who the report came from. Only if there is really no other way, for instance because the report cannot be understood without your name or because the law obliges us to, can that be different. We will let you know first if so.
One thing about that: reporting is not a weapon. Reporting someone while you know there is nothing going on is itself a breach of these rules.
8. Not wanting to see someone any more
If you want nothing more to do with someone, you can unfriend that person. Your stories and your goals are no longer visible to him or her after that.
If it goes further than that, you can block someone. You can do that at the profile, at a story and while reporting itself. After that you no longer see each other in the app, and blocking immediately ends the friendship as well. You can simply undo the block later, under Settings at "Blocked users". One thing does not come back by itself: the friendship. You request that again afterwards.
If someone keeps bothering you, for instance with new friend requests over and over, email us at report@groepsdr.uk. Then we step in.
9. What we do if someone does not stick to it
Which measure we choose depends on what has happened. For something small it usually starts with a warning, after that the content goes, and if it is repeated your account gets locked.
For the serious things we skip all of that: for sexual content involving minors, threats and illegal content the account goes straight away, without warning. When exactly that happens and which other measures we can take is in the terms of use under Zero tolerance and under What we can do.
Every decision is made by a person and we look at what exactly has happened. One unfortunate remark is something different from following someone around for weeks. And creating a new account while your account is locked is itself another breach.
10. Disagreeing with it
If your account is locked, you see why in the app, and you can appeal there straight away. That appeal reaches a person and you get an answer. If you disagree with something else we have decided, email report@groepsdr.uk and explain why. Then we will look at it again.
11. Contact and changes
Reports about a user or about content: report@groepsdr.uk. Something not working: support@groepsdr.uk. Questions about your data: privacy@groepsdr.uk. Behind all those addresses sits the same mailbox, so feel free to pick one.
These rules can change. If it is about something substantial, we will ask you to agree again the next time you open the app, before you can carry on. Small corrections, such as a clarification or a new email address, we simply make. At the top of this page it always says which version you are reading and when it is from, and at the bottom it says what changed in each version.
